Maedhros gives no sign that the clinging bothers him in any way, for indeed it does not, and if it brings the child some measure of comfort to do so he'd bear it even if it would cause him some discomfort. Even so he's relieved when they reach the top and he can catch his breath a bit.

As hes waiting for Barcus to make his way up to them he takes the oportunity to stretch his muscles a bit, he does have yet another climb to make after all and it would serve him well not to let his arms and legs get too stiff before that's over and done with.
