Tymothee clings, once he's tied onto Maedhros' back, still a little scared of the possibility of falling again. Hard to blame him, he's already fallen down two well-shafts. He's careful not to cut off the elf's breathing or limit his range of motion, though, and he's quiet as he climbs. He shakes a little here and there, cold or fighting mild shock, but if asked he only murmurs he's okay.
Meanwhile, Barcus attends carefully to the base of the rope...until he starts hearing odd sounds again. Soft whispers, in an unfamiliar language. It's a bad idea, he knows it's a bad idea before he does it, but he feels compelled, taking a few steps away from the rope and into the deeper cavern, following the trickle of red water.
He can feel the walls narrowing as he proceeds, and that's what stops him, because if he gets stuck, his companion will have a hell of a time retrieving him. For a moment, he stands in the blackness, one hand on the cavern wall, and the whispers coalesce into a sound like laughter, distant and malicious.
Let it never be said Barcus is a complete fool. Silently, he turns and retraces his steps back the way he came, and by the time Maedhros calls out to him, he's back at the bottom of the rope. "Coming!" he calls up to them, as loudly as he dares, which isn't very.
Fortunately, his underground climbing experience means he's at their sides again within a few minutes, at which point he hastily pulls the rope up after himself. "Some noises down there I don't like," he tells Maedhros quietly. "Can you carry him further, back to the entrance? It'll be faster. I think we're all ready to leave this place behind."
