"On my way," Barcus calls back without hesitation. He double checks the knots on the rope before shimmying down, agile and quick, and hastens to their side, holding his fairy lantern high. The child looks a little nonplussed to see such a small person coming to their aid, but when Barcus offers a handclasp and tells him his name he seems a little reassured.

"All right, we're going to put you in a simple harness," the gnome says, looping the extra length of rope around the boy's waist and under each leg. "We're a little short on actual climbing equipment so just binding you to Maedhros' chest and back will have to do. If I'd thought about it, I could have brought a pulley system, but...well. Never mind. Next time."

"--I mean, hopefully there won't be a next time for you, but should we have to do this kind of rescue again, I'll have to keep it in mind."

Tymothee seems lost by the time Barcus hits this point in his rambling, but also entertained by the gnome's bustling. He giggles faintly when Barcus ruffles his hair, and it's a matter of only a few minutes before he's strapped onto Maedhros' back.

"Take him up first," Barcus tells the elf. "I'll follow when you're at the top."
