Humans don't have magic, unless they have a recent fae ancestor, and we usually keep track of bloodlines well enough that changelings are brought into Faerie if they show any signs of magic.

Most humans have forgotten that magic exists outside of stories, at least in the most technological parts of their world. So they solve problems with technology, and we're left to catch up and adapt what they discover.
