Alastor knows that light is not inherently good and shadow is not inherently evil just like magic in general is neither purely good or evil. Being a practitioner of New Orleans Voodoo which can be used to both heal and harm further reinforces this belief. Light and darkness should be embraced in equal measure and wielded whenever necessary.
