"Yeah. Yeah, I know," Furfur sighs, running a hand through his hand and closing his eyes. He knows better than Zevlor exactly how the aftermath of deals with archdevils tends to fall out, and for a brief moment, he's back there, in Avernus, watching his father tend to his court. To the bright ballrooms where devils danced and the details of whispered deals echoed up to his perch in the rafters. Every bargain made, every sorry soul condemned, every partner betrayed...
And then the Radiant Sun works its magic, reminding him that he's here, that his father's influence doesn't reach this far. The amount of people who have even heard of his father is minuscule at best, and as long as he focuses, he can just leave it all behind him. He can be free for once in his life.
OH GOD FEELINGS, better smother those down before he starts bawling like a baby in the middle of the street.
"Anyway, yeah. The place still looks pretty rough, but there's not a tentacle to be seen," Furfur says, clearing his throat to keep those pesky emotions from leaking into his voice. "I was too far out to catch any of the big battle, but my party took out a few stragglers on our way back in. They were mostly the kind of people who thought their goddess abandoned them and were desperately trying to win back her favor through violence."
