Yes, that is the secret — for however much he complains, however many barbs he flings, very rarely does he actually outright refuse to help when directly asked for it... even in a case like this.

In his defense: the guy seems like he's never seen grass before, or not like this in any case, and he feels slightly bad for him. Only slightly, though.

And he very nearly says that Oleander doesn't have anything or anyone, right now — the only reason he's here at all is by chance, and the only reason he doesn't mind catching the wind twice is because he happens to like the wind. And nature, and trees, and everything that lives and grows.

Bugs included. He can't help the grin on his lips as he says, mild and acquiescing, "Of course we are."

Don't mind him as he turns away to focus on the wind again, instead of the countless bugs that are bound to be there, in the soil, crawling along in the blades of grass, flying and burrowing as if they, too, can sense the approaching spring.
