"Fen'vaslanelan," Felassan repeats, with approval and amusement.

The amusement is subdued, though. A little sad, as if Solas is striding ahead in the conversation and Felassan is dragging his feet behind, slower to emerge from the shadows of Mythal's fresher death and Solas' trembling hands.

He does emerge, though, as he goes on: "If you told me nothing but that an elf was leading humans in the same age I last saw, I would already be convinced she was remarkable. I was thinking she looked weak," he'll admit, "and you, but it is only strange for the contrast and... It is stupid to worry about people after the fact. You both survived it. And you seem happier than I have seen you in a very long time."

Happier is not happy, full stop, but it is something — especially when Felassan has spent over half his life in the world after the Veil, and over half the time he's known Solas only speaking with him as a figure in dreams, shattered and mourning and untouchable. Now he taps his little finger against the side of Solas' hand, one-two, because he can.

"When did she learn the truth?"
