The joke does elicit a small laugh from Ingrid. It's not outside the realm of possibility. And, well...somewhere, they're all still friends, and hopefully, building a Fódlan that will rival the Emperor's. That thought does give Ingrid some comfort, even if it torments Felix. She won't voice it to him.
"You say that, but he didn't try to take your head off during your first meeting. Or any since, it seems." She points out. "The King of Faerghus I remember would never have been able to restrain himself." Dimitri was haunted, she knew that, and five years of Rhea speaking her own poison into his ear cannot have been good for him. But Glenn hangs over both her and Felix, even now. Growing up in Faerghus meant becoming accustomed to growing up among ghosts. The Kingdom tended to cultivate them.
"Maybe if Her Majesty is a better woman and ruler for the Professor's influence, the same is true of him." She points out. That has to be the difference, isn't it? For five years they'd been locked in a stalemate but as soon as the Professor returned, the war had ended in mere months. And Edelgard had held the Professor in such high esteem, too...
She shrugs. "I knew my homecoming wouldn't be easy." She admits. "But it's early days yet." She smiles at the encouragement. She can only do what she's ever done, which is her best. "Thank you. And when your wandering feet take you to Galatea, there will be a place for you there, for as long as you want it." She can't see him ever returning to Fraldarius territory, but Galatea may be close enough yet still far away that Felix's own ghosts might give him some peace. "I know I could find plenty for you to do there that wouldn't require a sword."
