Oh good. She had misunderstood the situation. For a moment she'd been worried he was in a toxic relationship back home. The family situation was still delicate because apparently he'd been separated from his daughter for quite some time but he and Charlotte seemed to already be working to fix their relationship.

"It might defeat the purpose of showing her that you hadn't intended to come here if she does end up here, but it could still show her that even apart you were still thinking of her in case she had any fears that you chose to leave," Cadence pointed out. "It sounds like you two are still reconnecting and it takes time to rebuild that lost trust. Knowing you were still thinking of her enough to keep a journal of stories just for her even if she never came here would be a relief."
