Such commonalities Jade has found here have only been just that and nothing more -- commonalities. She's yet to meet a fellow soul from Vyn other than the ones she carries with her, and for now that's all well and good, as far as she's concerned. Jade isn't sure how she'd react to seeing familiar faces here anytime soon.
Her hands twist together in her lap, unsure how to handle the kind of sympathy Beleth is offering. Normally Jade would brush it off, or... Well, normally she would rather not talk about this at all, or at least not the more gritty details. She would rather bury it deep until it dies with her.
But her mother and sister didn't deserve that. Especially not her sister.
"Feeling's mutual, I guess." Even though she feels sometimes that so many people would have been better off having never known her. But that would require giving up, and she can't help but keep going. "Even if she did survive, I'm not sure if I'd have been able to protect her from anything worse happening, anyways... Our country hated our kind, and not many would extend charity to a couple of halfbreed kids. They sure as hell didn't for me."
