It's so rare that Bart has heart him laugh in earnest, and it makes a happy little bubble in his chest swell as he looks back and meets the smile on Touya's face. It's tense, but honestly, Bart can sympathize with it. After everything they've each gone through, he's honestly kind of surprised that he himself isn't more concerned about all of this. Perhaps he's just grateful to be somewhere new, to experience another world that might be kinder to him than the last.

He pauses in the walk into the city to gaze up at the colossal squid passing by, eyes veritably glittering at the sight. His hand tightens on Touya's in his excitement.

When it's gone he wills himself to keep moving, hoping to find where he's supposed to be going to find a proper place to stay here before they move on to the library.

"I know that you haven't decided where you would like to stay yet, but I do hope that you'll consider settling down nearby. I'd like to be able to keep seeing you regularly..."
