"Filming something is a way to make a ton of people, think thousands, over a very large area like a continent, see it at the same time."
He nods. "Yes, they wanted us to suffer, and they wanted it to be entertaining for those watching." His tone here is peculiar- there's bitterness, but also a sense that he's restraining himself from showing more emotion by masking it with a dryness.
He sighs and relaxes against the side of the pool as Beleth pats his shoulder- it would seem that he finds any kind of touch very comforting, based on his reactions.
She's calling him brave and admirable... And that means a lot coming from her, but he can't shake the nagging part of his brain that calls it undeserved praise. There is always the sense that he could and should have done more. But he won't dwell on that right now.
