Beleth might not be as good at reading people as Iron Bull (and very few were, really), but she had some ability to pick up context clues. She's certainly been subjected to enough people bamboozling her when she didn't.

"...Film?" Sorry Finnick, she's a medieval fantasy elf lady. She can understand enough of the important bits at least. "So they didn't just make traps to kill you--they wanted to make sure you suffered?" Highly inefficient. She was never one for torture or delaying execution--you want to kill someone, just get it over with.

That was not, however, the sentiment to share at the moment. Instead, she reaches over, and pats his shoulder, expression regretful. She can't know what he's thinking (and even if she did, again: medieval fantasy elf lady, what's a broadcast), but just telling someone of his death must, she thinks, be difficult.

"I'm sorry that you were the victim of the cruelty of such a horrendous man. But--I can't imagine a braver way to go. That is...very admirable, Finnick. I don't know if that's any comfort to you, but I commend your courage. I hope that they managed to succeed."
