“We come here with an offer. Nice houses - maybe some’re nicer than you grabbed, still. Then there’s folks who aren’t going to chase us out of town for things we can’t control in our background.”

They can share wondering if their own reflection is who they are. In a way, it’s a central problem in Imoen’s memory in the water. She hunches a little when Jade brings up their meeting. She’d enjoyed herself, and sure, there’d been recognition of things not to be poked when one is just someone new and looking to have fun. But Imoen misjudged the scope of the problem behind Jade wanting a drink that would fuck her up back then.
