Night Sky was fairly confident they would support it once all the terms were laid out. The alternative was so much worse — an eternity bound to a creature who only wanted her to fight for him, who wanted her complacent and answering to his beck and call. He wanted her mindless, memoryless and subservient. Under him, she would forget her own name, her life, and everyone she ever loved.
A tear streaked down her cheek, and then another; rolled over his fingers where they laid upon her. What had she done for him that could equate to this? Even the offer of it was more than she could ever imagine doing in turn.
Night Sky whimpered softly and turned her head — not away from him, but just so she could duck down and press her face into his shoulder, arms wrapped around to hold him close to her. "I can't thank you enough." She murmured. "I'm so glad I met you."
