Lydia remained quiet because he was right, she knew that. She also knew she didn't let herself get rattled all that often but seeing the memory playing out before them had rattled her a bit more than she cared to admit. It was a reminder of how she had been in the dark and how she hadn't been able to stop Peter from attacking her.
"The memory bothered me," she told him, revealing some of her thoughts. "It was a horrible reminder and a reminder of other attacks after. But I did use them to push myself to be stronger. After one of them, I decided I needed to learn how to fight and I asked a friend to teach me."
"It's not really to you, I just...I wish you would stop worrying so much about hurting me while we get closer." She looked up at him again. "So remember the fact that you've called me strong all those times you start to let the worry get to you. But...it's also okay to let ourselves be vulnerable sometimes too."
