He keeps watching until she's out of sight, returned again to her home.
"Seems like it," he agrees. "Though I can't say I'd understand why anyone would do such a thing. Do people think they do not feel as they do? That they do not feel just as anguished and humiliated as they themselves would if they were put in bondage in such a manner?"
There is barely concealed anger in his voice.
He let's out a heavy sigh. "I suppose. It did not end as badly as it could have and the young lady, at least, have her freedom back in her own hands. And that is a happy enough ending for me." For he knows how much it means to get it back once it's been stolen from you. "And hopefully no other will ever try to take it from her again."
