The expression on Cinna's face betrays the truth even if Finnick thought his words were a lie, which he doesn't. Cinna is horrified, and definitely had no idea. That explains how misguided his whole story seemed. Finnick had forgotten how new Cinna was to this whole sphere of the Games, and in the Capitol, they like to keep their general populace blind to these dark undersides.
His brow furrows with a little concern, and he clasps Cinna's elbow.
"Of course I believe you, and of course I forgive you, Cinna," he says, and his smile is warm again, genuine. There isn't much Cinna could do to make Finnick think poorly of him, after what he did for Katniss and the rebellion. "If anything, it's good to know I'm such a stunning actor that you never suspected I was anything but a beautiful philanthropist playboy." His smile turns to a grin, and he winks, to break the tension.
"Now, I hope you'll allow me to help you settle in here. I've been in Caldera for several months, and I'd love to show you the ropes. What faction were you drawn to choose?"
