Draven's eyes shadowed, and he looked momentarily shifty. He seemed busily preparing to cook up an alibi for himself.
Yet as Maedhros spoke of keeping a selkie from the sea and of a skin, Grey's eyes flashed in recognition. The look he gave his son was shock, momentary frustration... then a cool disappointment.
"...Boy."
The disappointment was what hit the most. Draven winced, turning bright pink, then muttered a "Yes, Sir," before he began to climb back onto the boat and disappear into the cabin.
Grey sighed, and his shoulders sank. The shake of his head was one of dismay. "...I can't believe it... he -really- took the poor girl's skin..."
"I'm afraid so," Lulu sighed. "Look, I'm not about to tell another dad how to be, but the fella's just a dumb kid in love. His brothers don't have to know what happened, and-"
"I know, I know..." The man massaged a temple. "But you figure when you hear the stories enough and what happens to the poor selkies after, you'd have a heart and not wish to be the one to do it themselves. My hope is that poor Brienna can find it in her to not treat him harshly, and that's if she'd ever wish to see him again."
