Maybe the other guy shouldn't have run then.

Pride is a thing that affects my people as well. It is a fine line between just pride in your accomplishments and vanity for some. [He has been accused of both. He has spent a great deal of time thinking about the difference. ]

It is the wish of the Emperor, too, which is why he has created his Angels, so that his other subjects may live in peace. [Relative peace, like Macragge, which is a pastoral beautiful homeworld. Not a hive planet.]

If they are allowed to forget, they will learn the lessons a second time. [It's why every Chapter studies the history of the Heresy and the Indomitus Crusades. So that they might avoid repeating those lessons.]

Death is one's duty, to be given in service to humanity. And with luck escape the snares of the Warp. It is nothing to be afraid of, to either deal or receive. [If you lived on a battle barge where half the servitors were lobotomized failed Astartes and the other half died on a regular basis...death wouldn't seem so scary.]
