Maedhros is not much for prying, not right away and not unless he feels like someone is keeping something vital from him, so he'd not have minded had Solas said less.

It is a more formal greeting than most would like, he supposes, but he is old and rather set in his ways so people will just have to live with his old-timey ways. "The people who have been brought here against their will or the native people here? From what I've heard it seems we are returned to the point in time we left our own worlds so, cold comfort that it might be, whatever tasks you need to accomplish will still be there waiting for you when you return. Though when that will be is unfortunately impossible to say. As far as I'm aware no one has been able to leave on their own accord."
