It's been difficult, since he's gotten here, but he's managed so far, on his own. But now that his dad is here- really here, for real, not an illusion or delusion- he can finally relax just a little. Sure, there's still weird shit going on here, but it's manageable. At least now he can go back to making sure his dad is eating healthy again.

As they part he watches his dad grab a burlap sack and raises a brow, then laughs a little as he wipes at his face to dry off unshed tears. "Definitely not on the chessboard, dad," he says, grinning a little.

"If you thought werewolves were weird, you haven't seen anything yet," he says cheekily, but then motions to the bag. "Did you pick up one of the quests from the board in town?"
