People loitering around without any real reason to do so, people that seem unduly interested in either us or what we're guarding, strange noises... just anything that seems a bit off, really." Though most of the time there would be nothing of note happening during guard duty, which is why it was so boring. "One good piece advice I can give you if you decide to do something like this again is to get yourself a comfortable pair of boots. We are going to be standing for hours on end and you'd want to be as comfortable as possible since fidgety guards do not exactly inspire much confidence."
