Bellara's countenance crumbled further, withdrawing into herself for a few moments. She wanted to think of something, something that would make sense of all of this, but her heart kept pounding in her ears, drowning out everything logical except the grief. She closed her eyes, fingers clutching tightly around the papers in her hands. Weeks. Rook had been gone for weeks. How many accidents had the Veil Jumpers had over artifacts? Some of them were lost, too. And the same principles could apply but... But it also meant Rook could be saved, just as some of them were.
She had to keep that hope. For Rook.
With a shaky breath, she tried to straighten again, and when she looked to Lucanis, her cheeks were wet. Voice unsteady, she tried, "If she's in the Fade..." Faltering, she tried again: "If she's in the Fade, we can...we can find her." It'd be more difficult and likely, they wouldn't have time - or the manpower, with Neve gone - but it didn't mean it was impossible. "And if this is part of the Fade," she murmured, "we can look for her here too. We can try." Trying was all they could really do.
